1. Data protection
The operators of this website take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with statutory data protection provisions and this privacy policy. It is generally possible to use our website without providing personal data. Where personal data (such as names, addresses or email addresses) is collected on our website, this is always done on a voluntary basis wherever possible. Personal data are processed by the service provider described below as necessary to provide hosting and email services. Other disclosures require a valid legal basis, such as a legal obligation or your consent. Please note that data transmission over the Internet (e.g. when communicating by email) may have security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
2. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by STRATO GmbH. STRATO processes the technical connection and access data required to deliver and operate the website.
The website provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. This information consists of:
- Browser type and browser version
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL
- IP address and hostname of the accessing computer
- Time of the server request
These data are not combined with other data sources. We reserve the right to review these data subsequently if we become aware of specific indications of unlawful use.
We process these data to deliver the website, maintain its reliability, diagnose technical faults and protect it against misuse and attacks. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interests are the secure and reliable operation of our business website.
Technical connection data are processed for the duration needed to deliver the requested resources. Personal data in security logs are retained for as long as necessary to detect and investigate faults, misuse or attacks, and are then deleted or anonymised. Where a specific incident requires further investigation or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, relevant records may be retained for that purpose for as long as necessary.
3. Email services
We use STRATO GmbH as our email service provider. If you contact us by email, STRATO processes the email address, message content, attachments and technical transmission data required to provide the email service. Glycomer GmbH processes the information you provide to respond to your enquiry and handle the matter concerned.
Where your enquiry relates to a contract with you or steps requested by you before entering into a contract, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. For other enquiries, including correspondence with representatives of business customers, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is responding to enquiries and conducting business communications.
Providing your contact details and enquiry is voluntary; you are not required to contact us. Without a means of replying and the information needed to understand your request, we may be unable to respond or take the steps you request.
We retain correspondence for as long as necessary to handle your enquiry and any resulting contractual relationship. Once those purposes no longer apply, the data are deleted unless statutory retention obligations or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims require further retention. Statutory retention is based on Article 6(1)(c) GDPR in conjunction with the applicable commercial or tax law provisions. Retention necessary for legal claims is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and our legitimate interest in protecting our legal rights. Data retained solely for these purposes are no longer used to handle unrelated enquiries and are deleted when the relevant obligation or need ends.
4. Your data protection rights
Subject to the applicable conditions of the GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Access to your personal data and information about their processing, including their origin where available, recipients and purposes (Article 15 GDPR).
- Rectification of inaccurate data and completion of incomplete data (Article 16 GDPR).
- Erasure of personal data where the legal conditions are met (Article 17 GDPR).
- Restriction of processing in the circumstances specified in Article 18 GDPR.
- Data portability: where processing is automated and based on consent or a contract, you may receive the personal data you have provided in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and transmit them to another controller. Where technically feasible, you may request direct transmission (Article 20 GDPR).
Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
Right to object
Where processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then stop processing the data unless we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
If personal data are processed for direct marketing, you may object at any time. The data will then no longer be processed for that purpose (Article 21 GDPR).
To exercise your rights, contact office@glycomer.com or use the controller's contact details above.
5. Right to lodge a complaint
If you consider that the processing of your personal data infringes the GDPR, you have the right under Article 77 GDPR to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the EU Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. This right is without prejudice to other administrative or judicial remedies.
You may contact the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht, BayLDA): BayLDA complaints service. You do not have to contact us before lodging a complaint.
6. Objection to advertising emails
We hereby object to the use of contact details published as part of the mandatory legal notice for sending advertising and informational materials that have not been expressly requested. The operators of this website expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited advertising being sent, for example through spam emails.
Validity and changes
This privacy policy is currently valid. Updating and further developing the content and/or technology may make it necessary to amend this privacy policy. The operator therefore reserves the right to amend the privacy policy at any time with effect for the future.
